Here I am in one of my latest projects- I love all my clients- even the 4 legged ones!

Welcome!  I am Sandra Pokorny, the owner and principal designer of The Edit Interior Design. I have a unique advantage over most designers as I have over 15 years experience in the real estate field as an agent, administrator, and marketing director. I loved being a part of helping people to make their home ownership or investing goals a reality. As a busy staging consultant and Interior Designer I get to see A LOT of homes every year, meet a ton of home owners, buyers and real estate developers.

My passion lies in interior design and home styling. I approach all projects with the intention of creating a welcoming space where people want to be, where they can feel safe, free to be and happy to spend time together.

I help design spaces for renovations and project manage from start to finish, design custom furnishings and built-in features, select finishes for new builds, consult on furniture, lighting, and design elements, help with space and floor planning and the all-important…BUDGETING. I have my accredited professional certificates in Home Staging and Interior Design from QC Design School.

My goal is to help you narrow in on your style & vision, find out how you want to live, and work together to create a space for you that functions well, represents who you are, where you have been, and where you are going! I truly love what I do and look forward to the people I get to meet, and of course always bring some fun factor to working together!

Originally from Vancouver, my experience in Professional Communications, Public Relations, and Marketing has trained me as a conceptual thinker – I love opening a new a project and diving into all that it could be! Currently I am enrolled in the QC Design School and will receive my accredited Diploma in Interior Decorating in 2020.

I learned from an early age that I loved interior design – only back then it manifested itself as constantly rearranging my parent’s furniture and art and hanging around the amazing antique stores downtown.

Today you’ll catch me doing the same thing only on a larger, more deliberate scale with clients. I take great care when meeting new clients to really understand HOW you live in your home in order to design the most functional and beautiful spaces. I use foundational design principles such as balance, proportion, and variety to help design a space that reflects our clients’ unique tastes and personalities and suits their design needs, all while keeping in mind how your investments in your home will contribute to increasing your home’s value.

I’m a big believer in creating a harmonious flow throughout a home and that everything in your home can resonate with you and bring you joy – creating a space that gets used to its full potential, makes you smile, AND fits within your budget is my ultimate goal.
